Annika Suarez, MS, CCC-SLP
Annika Suarez is a speech-language pathologist and a certified breastfeeding specialist who has experience working with a variety of speech, language and swallowing disorders in individuals of all ages. She works with many different populations including babies who have difficulties feeding (nursing, bottle feeding, and swallowing), older children with articulation disorders (trouble with the “r” sound and lisps) and young children with language impairments. She is trained in Beckman’s Oral Motor and breastfeeding counseling. She is a member of La Leche League (LLL) of Tallahassee, the International Affiliation of Tongue-Tie Professionals (IATP), and the Healing Arts Alliance (HAA).
Annika is also the creator of Sunny Speech Games. Annika has been creating her own games for therapy since she graduated with her master’s degree from Florida State University. The first game she has produced was developed to target a common goal of her clients: to reduce phonological processes. Minimal pair contrasts have been proven to be an effective, evidenced-based therapy technique to address the reduction of phonological processes. Annika used this idea of therapy to produce her own minimal pairs flip book games to address most types of phonological processes.
